So excited today to participate in the Class of 2012: YA Superlatives Blogfest, hosted by Jessica Love, Katy Upperman, Alison Miller, and Tracey Neithercott. It’s always fun this time of year to reflect back on what awesomeness the books of 2012 held… and I just can’t resist a list.
And if anyone is interested, here is the list of books I’ve read in 2012!

We’ve got some of the same titles on our lists!
Ooh, I can’t wait to read STARGLASS! And I’ve been meaning to read ELEANOR AND PARK–it looks lovely.
It’s so great! If you’re into Sci-Fi it’s such a great example of that, but I think any reader would dig the story.
Oh Eleanor & Park was looooooooooovely. I recommend that to anyone, ever.
I love that you made an image for yours! And I’ve definitely been eying those 2013 releases you’ve included, so I’m glad to see you liked them :)
Ha, thank you!! I’m learning a new photoshop-ish program, so this was helpful! I sort of didn’t realize most people were restricting to released in 2012 books, so I went with “read in 2012,” and I’m so lucky that a few ’13 releases were in that group. They’re all SO good and I’m psyched for them to be released!
Great choices! I had a tough time picking mine too. Also, I have Code Name Verity on my bookshelf – I think that might have to be a Christmas vacation read!
You won’t regret it! But be aware it packs a bit of an emotional punch… Might be some tears in your eggnog. (SO GOOD though!)
I see a lot of familiar, awesome titles here. :)
But I still need to read CODE NAME VERITY! Thanks for reminding me. And Rainbow Rowell’s ATTACHMENTS has been on my TBR forever, so I’ll add ELEANOR & PARK to it, too.
Oh man, I haven’t really looked into Attachments! I definitely should check that out. I loved seeing how everyone’s lists had a few familiar titles, but lots of new ones also!
YAY for Raven Boys and the DEVASTATINGLY GOOD Code Name Verity! I want everyone to read it so bad because it is beautiful and breathtaking. :)
I still have to read Bitterblue and Days of Blood & Starlight, but I’m super excited for both. It was a good year for Fantasy for me!
I’ve been eyeing STARGLASS, but I’ve got to be in the mood for Sci-Fi. Glad to see you liked it so much. I’ll definitely try to get my hands on it!
Oh man, I want everyone to read Code Name Verity, too! It just… wow. So good! And yes it definitely sounds like you have some awesome fantasy reading ahead of you! They’re both really unusual interpretations of the typical fantasy genre, so I think you’ll dig it! And yes, Starglass is amazing—not just for fans of SF either! Really fantastic YA internal growth story.
Ooo, you’ve got some good ones on your list, and most of them are books that I haven’t yet read. My TBR list is growing today! I’ve been really itching to get my hands on CODE NAME VERITY for some time now. Guess I should get on that! :)
You won’t regret it! That book will be around for a long time, I suspect.
We have a few picks that are similar and some that I think I’ll be adding to my TBR list.
I LOVE the look of your pick!
Thanks Crystal!
I hadn’t heard of Starglass. Must look that one up!
It’s coming out this summer! Definitely keep an eye out for it!
So jealous of Nobody But Us! CANNOT WAIT TO READ IT! So many awesome picks, Sarah. Wanderlove, Eleanor & Park, and The Fault In Our Stars :) SO MUCH PERFECTNESS. *dies*
I love your pretty image! It’s awesome!
*cheers for BITTERBLUE* I also really liked CODE NAME VERITY (though I think the crazy buzz of it left me with impossible to meet expectations) and TFIOS. And, oh, RAVEN BOYS and THIS IS NOT A TEST and DAYS OF BLOOD & STARLIGHT, I will get to you sooooon…
I love your collage graphic! So cool!
Ooh, we have some definite overlap! I scored an ARC of NOBODY BUT US and LOVED it, but I’m saving it for my 2013 list. Oh, man… It was so, so good! I’m excited to see ELEANOR AND PARK on your list. I’ve wanted to read that one forever!
This is the most awesome flowchart EVER! I like how…well, most of my novels aren’t in line with others. lol. But everyone’s given me great novels to lookout for when I’m searching for books to read!
